The One Thing I Know

I know one thing.

I know this thing with all my heart, and with all my soul, and with all my being.

I know that I have the choice to be who I am, when I am, where I am.

I may not have a choice, today, about what I do for a living, where I live, or what kind of car I drive.

But if who I am today is a writer, I'm a writer, even if I live in a homeless shelter, write on paper bags with stubs of pencils, and take the bus to a job in a fast food joint to try to get out of the shelter.

If who I am today is a writer, I'm a writer, even if my kids are sick, my car is broken down, my computer won't boot and I haven't sold anything in years.

But if who I am today is a writer, and I decide that who I should be is a doctor, I'm going to be pretty miserable, because who I am is a writer.

On the other hand, if I'm a writer who wants to become a doctor, I've got a great handle on who I am, who I want to be, and probably an idea of whether it's possible and how to get there.

Never lose sight of who you are. Be who you are, no matter where you are, or when you are.

Be you.

Be more Happy by reading more self improvement articles

There are a variety of self improvement articles available nowadays. You may be thinking that this is one of those, obviously.

What have you got to lose by reading one more self improvement article?

When you came the 40-year stage in your life, you will suddenly realize many things. You get to ask yourself questions. How will it be when I get to the end of my life? How do I feel about the life I lived?

Then someone gave you some self improvement articles while telling you that it is not yet too late. Does that mean anything to you?

You bet it does. The feeling of anxiety that will come next is just normal. Then you will feel confused because life had felt so good. You were happy, had a successful marriage, two wonderful kids, and a job you reasonably enjoyed. What was my problem?

It was your class ceiling. The “practical” and fear-based side that had convinced you all along that your passion and dreams had died.

Here are top ten shifts in perspective that can help you move your life to the next level. This self improvement article will assist you in breaking through your own glass ceiling to create the life you really want.

1. Give yourself permission to dream. You probably had no problem dreaming as a kid. What happened to your ability to imagine and dream about what you want and who you want to be? When was the last time you caught yourself daydreaming and appreciated it?

2. Stop looking outside yourself for happiness. Look inside. Increase your self-awareness. Get curious about who you are at the core. Cultivate and nurture a relationship with yourself.

3. Cover the basics. Take the time to address your personal needs. How can you focus on thriving in your life if you are in survival mode? Set up that meeting with a financial advisor, get your space organized, clean up the details that are wasting your energy.

4. Embrace your past and move on. Shift from “why it happened” to what I want to do about it now. Asking “why” is not a very empowering question. Asking what or how I want to proceed can be much more powerful and produce forward movement.

5. Remember that you are not alone. It is easy to feel overwhelmed with life. Seek support. Read more self improvement articles. They might help you figure about some things that are puzzling you.

6. Remember gratitude. Count your blessings. What is working right in you life? Make a list. Set aside a bit of time everyday to acknowledge what or who you are grateful for. The more you practice gratitude, the more you attract into your life things to be grateful for.

7. Court your passion. You still have your passions though it has been a while since you may have felt it flow. When are you the most alive and joyful in your life? Who do you most admire and what do they inspire in you?

8. Take action and take a risk. All the inspiration in the world is not enough to make you move your life to the next level. It takes inspired action to do that.

9. Keep breathing. You probably forget to take deep full breaths. We have all learned to constrict our breathing in response to stress. According to many self improvement articles, we not only need oxygen to stay alive, we need oxygen to give us energy and keep us healthy. Right now take 5 deep, full breaths.

10. Have fun. Call a friend, take a bubble bath, take yourself to an art museum or schedule a whole day out in nature. Put on some great music and dance till you drop.

And you thought this was just one of those self improvement articles.

How to avoid feeling bored when you work

Feeling bored is a common feeling everyone feels it during work or daily routines , especially when you repeat the same tasks every day and your job requiremnts are to do exacltly the same things all he time.

Ofcourse weekends and holidays are the best times you feel happy and not bored because you know that i want to feel happy before start working again, so i remind myself that weekend is coming soon and i will have fun or relax , and also i tell myself i have to finish all my task and duties in the best ways and with good perfromance i want to achieve my goals if leave my thoughts and feelings to the boring thinking or feeling i will be so down and fail in my duties.

So try as much as you can to stop thinking bored and think that every begining has an ending and today was boring day but next day will be coming, and soon weekend will come to rest and enjoy my life, or you can say after work i will meet my family or friends or the ones i love so i will get more excited, never let your self weak infront of silly  times be sure its normal what else can you do except fighting this by doing the boring task and say i will finish all that silly work and go HOME at the end of the day.

You can also think of taking break (if possible) just to think and relax for 10 minutes closing your eyes and lying your back and say Who else will finish the work but ME im in charge of something even it doing it bores me but this my life, job and career no other way to quit. by turning all the boring feelings to exciting or atleast normal feelings during work eventually you are running away from feeling bored and will get focused on your duties and tasks with simple selftalking and selfthinking.

Personal Stress Management: Relaxation Strategies

It’s a plain fact that only you can help yourself overcome stress and the key to that starts with your mind. Without knowing it, the mind is the initial target of stress since everything that happens in our life is initially perceived and processed by our brain. Learning to control your chain of thoughts and a few relaxation tips can do wonder for your personal stress management.

Relax and say goodbye to stress

The first method in dealing with stress in your own personal way is to learn how to relax. It might not be much but professionals and therapists agree that being relaxed while in the throes of stress can help you find solutions in getting rid of it. There are plenty of methods that can help you relax, and you can choose one that will suit you best.

Music and dancing

It is true that the music soothes the savage beast, and your mind is definitely savage when under the influence of stress. Playing instrumental music or nature sounds can ease your mind and help you relax. Some would even recommend dancing to the melody of the music to release the tension that builds up in your body. Loosening all those tight muscles can help you relax as well as increasing the circulation of blood and oxygen into other areas of your body promoting a healthy outlet to stress.

Massage

The body and the mind are connected. The mind can perceive what the body can feel and vice versa. By pampering your body, you can help your mind relax and put you in a calm mood. Getting a massage is a great way to give your body a break, and your mind as well. Shiatsu can do wonders in getting those tired muscles out of your system which will help you feel balanced and energized afterwards.

Aromatherapy massage can also help you relax. Being rubbed with scented oils like jasmine or lavender can help your mind relax while the soothing massage gently caresses your body.

Meditation of mind and body

Meditation is a great way to reduce the tension that builds up in your mind while under the influence of stress. Originally part of the pagan religion, stress is now being incorporated by many professionals as a healthy resort to stress and problems. Try to find a quiet place in your mind or in your office. You may sit down or lie down. Focus on each and every single area of your body and commanding them to relax with your mind. You might feel slightly heavy afterwards since you are internally focused.

Try to visualize an object or phrase a question in your mind. Focus on it as long as necessary. Fleeting thoughts and scenes will flash through but pay them no heed. After a while, your mind will stop projecting images and you will feel like as if you're floating in total nothingness. You will feel refreshed after meditation and you will be ready to face stress in the face.

Physical exercise

One personal stress management technique that can dispel stress is to find an outlet for your mental and emotional burdens. Physical exercise is a highly recommended approach in dealing with stress and is incorporated by stress management clinics and workouts worldwide.

Since the mind and the body are connected, keeping it healthy will have a profound influence in your state of mind. Doing at least 4 times of physical exercise a week can improve your cardiovascular functions and strengthen your heart.

This will help you avoid effects of stress like stroke, high-blood pressure, muscle pains, and so on.

4 Ways to Overcome Stress in your Life

How to fight being in stress?Everyone in life faces stress, at home, at work at college, before and after marriage and even becoming a parent.

stress is always there we cant deny this, many things causes stress in life, all kinds of problems leads to stress unexpected losses in life too, we cannot die from stress but we can die from it if we dont fight it back it will affect our mental and physical health also it can leads to depression where we dont want to get into it.

It is not easy to prevent stress but it will be great if you control stress in your life and learn to overcome it even if you can't overcome your difficult problems, the main thing is to mange it and beat it by main four ways :

1.Exercise/Workout:
That is very important not only for looking good in good shape i mean but also FEELING GOOD you can go for jogging, running, playing sports, swimmimg....etc.
Choose the way that is not hard for you and work out, burn your stress not only fats, burn the negative thoughts and fight that stress when you exercise, moove your body moove your mind and thoughts to be more alive tell your self "stress won't take me down" ..."i will take it down".
let it get out of your mind and chest then breathe that you are not weak.

2.Diet:
The way you eat affects not only your body but also your mind, follow healthy diet eat well but not too much, dont fill up yor stomach by unhealthy food and eating alot, No, eat little portions 4 or 5 little meals a day , dont blow your self with food because you will feel upset from what you ate and tired as well. (we eat to live not live to eat), dont runaway from your problems to eat anything that will increase your stress but go and fight the stress inside by being a healthy person ,eat less, leave little space in your stomach to be light and comfortable.

3.Vitamins:
If you feel Dieting and exercising not enough go to the doctor he can prescribe medications or vitamins that is useful to support your mental and physical health.

4.Family and Friends:
The best way to control stress is getting support from your friends and family, talk to to them ,let it out of your chest when you speak out it will decrease your stress, ask for their advices. have good time with them have more fun whenever it is possible with them, that will help you to overcome your hard situations and they will make you feel more confident and more stronger to fight back your worries and taking your stress down.

Focus on your mental and emotional side to gain self improvement

Not everyone believes this but the emotional and mental aspects of a person, when combined, leads to better self improvement.

Emotions love to dominate our actions and reactions, even though we do not want it to happen sometimes. The society often see emotions as a sign of weakness, so people are used to putting them aside and focusing on the rational aspects more and more.

No matter how strict and logical you may be, you will always feel. One way or another, someone or something will get through you.

Positive emotions are a lifelong goal for many of us concerned about emotional health and self improvement. What is more important; the amount of money you made during your life or the times you laughed out of sheer joy?

People tend to put their positive emotions behind their negative feelings. This is one of the biggest problems that people come across during their lives.

There is no clear way to ignore a negative experience and try to replace it with a positive one. Life just does not work that way.

For example, when you were a child, if your goldfish dies, you would be heartbroken. Your parents will probably buy you another goldfish but the sorrow is still there.

Things get even more complex when you become an adult. A fight with your spouse the night before will affect your entire day. You will go to work angry, tired, and your mind will wander. On the way home from work you will not notice the sun shining and you would not be tempted to stop at a roadside stand to pick up some fresh fruits and vegetables.

All this because that one negative thought has contaminated the way you perceive the reality around you.

In this moment you will realize finding a safe place to relax your mind will do wonders for your emotional and mental improvement.

That place is relatively easy to find. It can be an actual place or an imaginary location. The best idea is to totally lose yourself in it.

Let us say you have a problem on your mind and it just would not go away. Go bowling. Do not know how? Just give it a shot.

Get caught up in the game. Your mind will drift away from the negative thoughts that dominated your last hours or days and start processing a whole new kind of information.

A safe haven can take many forms. It can be a song, a movie, even a person or animal. The main thing is allow yourself to get completely involved with this new activity.

You might still get flashes of the problem every now and then. Ignore it and get even more absorbed in what you are doing.

When the bowling game, the song, or the movie ends you will abruptly return to reality. You will probably want to retreat back to the safe place. Do not do it.

The safe place exists only as a helping hand, not as a solution to your life's problems, may it be a small or big. It serves only as an escape route.

You will return from your safe zone with an increased energy level. You will feel better about yourself and gain more confidence. You will see that any issue can be resolved.

This is how a small escape from a harsh reality can increase your emotional and mental health. Try to do this often and you are on your way to better self improvement.

Self esteem improvement; Start now before it is too late

Be determined to improve your self esteem and you are on your way to great achievement.
Do not let a low self esteem ruin your life. The way you think about yourself determines how you interact with others.

What are some examples of low esteem aspects in you mind that you need improvement on?
1. Nothing you do seems to go right

2. You believe that most people do not like you.

3. You believe that you are not attractive.

4. You choose something and it turns out to be the worst one.

5. You are afraid to converse with others for fear that what you say might not make sense.

6. You feel swallowed up in a whirlpool of frustration. What’s wrong with you? Your thoughts, actually.
Stop thinking that the world is closing in on you. Get determined to achieve what you desire. Stop blaming other people for your misfortunes. The world is not your problem, you are your own problem.
From this moment on, begin the process of self esteem improvement. Think the right way and be determined to win, and win you will. Just remember that success never comes easily and that is why determination is its counterpart.
Oftentimes, one gets to the brink of success and with just a little disappointment or setback, they lose heart and give up too easily and too soon. A surefire candidate to low self esteem improvement. Who knows what great things might have been achieved if only they had persevered.

Without a high self esteem, your life could be rather boring. Change your thinking and begin to see yourself on top of the world. Make a very special effort to be what you really want to be.
You have to seriously decide either to remain in a miserable state of low self esteem, or acquire self esteem improvement and develop a high self esteem with good character and self image. The origin of low self esteem.

A low self esteem could begin way back in childhood when children are made to believe that they are worthless. Their self confidence is eroded and they succumb to the idea that they can never achieve success in anything that they do. They were picked on, laughed at, pushed around, called ugly names, and treated with disdain. No wonder they grew up to be full of resentment.
If that was your experience, it is time you cut yourself loose from that mindset and do self esteem improvement. Start reading about the life of successful persons and you will soon discover that many of them had such low self esteem that they could not even complete an elementary education.

Many decided to override their low self esteem and improve their attitude, whatever it took. They became some of the greatest men and women that ever lived.
Low self esteem has never helped anyone else and it sure will not help you. It can only drive you into depression, anger, grudge, fear and all the other evils that it generates.
Re-program your thinking and control your state of mind. You must believe that you are worth much more than you think or you will remain at the foot of the ladder and never make an attempt to climb it.

Do not waste your life away with feelings of inadequacies. Instead, think of ways to go about self esteem improvement. Success is yours, just reach out and grasp it.

Happy & Sad

One of the things that i think of lately is life has its ups and downs , we go through different feelings every time, some days we have good moments and somedays bad moments sometimes we are depressed, sad, bored, unhappy, lonely ....many negative feelings and some other times we feel happy, cheerful, optimistic, in love, secured .....many positive feelings.

I beleive thats the beauty of living , yes it is...if u think for a moment your life is always perfect and full of happiness and good times like you have this forever....beleive me you will be unhappy with that because it never changes you are always happy , you will eventually get used for that perfect and happy life everyday is happiness ...you will loose the meaning and feeling of happiness you will get bored.

To make my point more clear i will give an example if everyday is a holiday or christmas for a whole year you will be excited about that for the first month or even couple of months but then you will be living everyday as a holiday forever thats boring we get happy when we have holidays after a hard work at job or home so when we know holidays are approaching we get very excited for setting plans for spending very good and relaxing times on holidays ,thats why we get happy for holidays coz we suffered the whole year with hard working so now we know the beauty of holidays.
Back to my point that beauty of life we understand good times coz we live hard times one day happy other day sad we appreciate the feeling of happiness coz we have been true sadness really thats good part of feeling happy.
When i go through hard times i keep telling my self"dont worry tomorrow or day after tomorrow or next months you will be having good time of your live the problems have to be solved somehow ...then you will be happy again" thats how human lives are about good times followed by bad times followed by good times again thats cyle of life.

Iknow that happy moments are very few according to bad momnets but hey the happy moments are rare like GOLD very expensive compared to other metals coz they are rare, thats the beauty of GOLD.

so whenver we face face hard times we should be patient and satisfied and know its a life cycle we wont live forever in sadness.... happy days has to come thast how we should cheer ourselves up with. BE OPTIMISTIC
when you face good times take all the advantage of it by being very happy and enjoy your good moments without worrying about problems or tomorrow what will happen, just have fun and be happy its your precious time dont waste it with your future fears and worrying too much.
wishing you all the happiness

ANGER MANAGEMENT

The Best Way Is Not Always The Hard Way
by Mark Goodworthy

Unlike other emotions, anger can cause negative effects on our health. When you get angry, your body displays physiological changes like sweating, increased heart beats and even increased temperature.

If your body is not in good physical condition, anger could probably strain your heart and increase your blood pressure. Of course, everybody knows that people with heart conditions should avoid getting angry.

Learning how to control your anger is very difficult. It would take a lot of will power and discipline. You can always look for a method or technique which effectively controls your anger. The key is finding one that you feel comfortable with.
Relaxation Techniques
If you feel that you can control your anger on your own, you can try several relaxation techniques. Whenever you feel that you are getting angry,
*you should take deep breaths. Deep breathing would slow down your heart rate and take your focus away from your anger.
*Another effective method is by counting numbers until your anger subsides. This exercise will also help you focus on other things besides your angry emotions.
